I have also heard that Bar Keeper's Friend is very good but I have not used it. I don't want to hijack this thread but Lindy, I love your kitchen. You said you tweeked your cabinet color after they were in. What did you do? Also, I love your kitchen bar stools - where did you get them? Thanks

Thanks kathy50! The cabinets were stained onsite and we just kept diluting the original formula and trying it on a sample board until we got the color we liked. After it was up, we freaked out at how dark it looked. But after our eyes adjusted and we got all the other elements in, we love the color now. It's Sherwin Williams Chestnut Stain but diluted.

The bar stools are from Penney's. Village Bar Stool

The first 4 we ordered were sooo comfortable (on sale for $199 plus free shipping) I ordered a 5th a few months ago and for some reason, it's hard as a rock. Maybe a fluke? You can always return them to the local store with no return shipping charge too. Penney's had alot of styles to choose from and often have sales.

Hmmm Bar Keepers friend is good at removing discolorations and such but not scratches. Somewhere during the construction project the stainless trim on our cooktop got all scratched up and bar keepers friend does nothing for that.

i posted this earlier in another thread about getting scratches out of brushed SS

I had been given SandBlaster pads by 3M in 180 and 400 grit by the appliance dealer

with a lot of patience and some rubbing with the grain first with the 180 then the 400 i got all of the scratches out and after press from the reverse side to push out the small dings they polished out also

I have done the exact same thing with my Wolf grates. My range is 4 months old. Somewhere in this forum someone did mention a good cleaner for SS scratches and I really wish now I had written it down.
