Space / overhang between countertop and stove / fridge

We are getting ready to have new granite installed and need some advice on how much overhang to leave between the stove, fridge and base cabinet. As you can see, the old tops were tile so there was a 1" piece that created a gap on all sides. The tile is now gone and I need to move the cabinet closer to the stove. Should the granite top have any overhang on the side where it goes back to the wall I was thinking about 1/4" to 1/2" or should it be flush to the side of the cabinet.

I believe you just have them do a polished edge in both of those spots, flush with the cabinet. Same thing on the right of the stove.

Looks like the base cabinet on the left of the stove is not lined up with the upper cabinet. Personally I would move the cabinet over so you have a nice tight fit.

thanks for the replys.. Debrak - you are saying nice tight fit between the stove and base cab?

Thats what I am thinking. The tile (which is gone now) caused the gap. I was thinking about leaving 1/2 inch on each side of the stove. Thoughts?

Yes. It looks like to big a gap.

I just measured and have a 1/2 inch on each side of my freestanding range.

Yes, slide that puppy over, but then you should probably have a filler between the cab and the wall or else you will have a handy nook for crud to hang out. Then your granite can go from the right edge of the cab all the way to the wall.
