if your corian is mostly white without a lot of pattern, i personally think a blingy glass tile would be lovely! imho mosaics are overkill when your counter has a lot of pattern or movement.

Thanks ardcp! My counter is mostly white, but using only glass tile is kind of scary to me. Blingy is a good word and not my personality, but I do love some kitchens that are done this way. Is the look here to stay? Just concerned that it will really date my house in 10-15 yrs when I want to sell it.

i know what you mean about dating the house. we all need a crystal ball! if it helps i live in an area where dated kitchens are the norm. people apparently don't update anything here so it will be geographic dependent too. imo what dates a kitchen is when too many things are trendy or busy or the colors/styles just don't gel. if it is done so it works with your cabs and counters, it shouldn't be a problem.
also i have seen subway type tiles with 1 row at the counter and then a strip of mosaic with the rest the plain subway. maybe an option?

In 10-15 years, more than just the tile is going to look dated. It's just the way these things tend to go. If you don't have relatively immediate plans to sell the house (less than 5 years), get what you love.

Chances are that the people who buy your home in 15 years aren't going to buy it because they love your kitchen, but instead because they love the house in general and find the kitchen "acceptable" until they can redo it to their own tastes.
