Mmmm. That looks good!

My kitchen is being put to good use today. Dh made pancakes and bacon this morning for the kids while I slept in late (I was up in the middle of the night taking care of my dog's stomach issuesâ¦yeah, don't ask!). I was awakened by the smell of bacon!

I just made mint pesto for the lamb chops we are having for dinner. Tomorrow is my son's 11th birthday and he requested lamb chops for his birthday dinner. We are celebrating tonight with my parents b/c we are supposed to get a bad storm tomorrow and my parents wouldn't be able to join us if that's the case.

In a little bit I'm going to start on the red velvet cake he requested. I've never made one before so hopefully it will turn out well.

If I have time, I'm going to make Ethiopian beef stew today as well. Threat of loss of power tomorrow due to ice and heavy snow, so if I make it today, we'll at least be able to have dinner tomorrow as we can reheat on our gas range.

I'll try to remember to take pictures!

There is a benefit of a gas range in that if the power goes out, cooking can still happen!

And wow, an 11 year old requesting lamb chops... nice. Post a pic of the chops if you can, it all sounds wonderful.

Ok, I've checked the acronyms threads, KAW doesnt get defined. Its killing me, what is KAW?!?
