My wattage?

Gigawatts, baby! Gigawatts!

How many fixtures will you have? We have 6- 4" recessed halo cansand placed 35 watts in each. Everyone is telling me there is enough light, but I like a brighter kitchen, especially when there is no natural light coming it. I will probably go to 60 watt, which is the most I can and think that will be more than enough. Depending on how large your kitchen is and how many fixtures you have 100 maybe too much, but if you like a bright kitchen go for what you want. I listened to everyone and I'm the one who will be working in the kitchen.

We had 80 Watt cans with 8' ceilings and they were bright! And hot! We switched them out for florescent bulbs in a 70 watt equivalent and they are fine.

I am going through my own saga on this one- I bought 3 80 watt(incandescant) flushmount fixtures (RH Turner). These are my main lights is a gallery shaped sapce. They are as dim as nightlights. Seriously, it is awful. I thought that since the light was spread, 3 in a row, instead of the single fixture we had before (and 90 watts over the old too ) that it would be fine. Nope. I am going to have to change them out to something MUCH brighter. I am thinking 150-180 watts for each fixture.

I have alot of other lighting too. Better to have too much and turn the dimmer down, than not enough at all.
