I can't see the dimensions on your picture, and I can't quite figure out what's what, except sink and stove. Where is the fridge? Individual walls might be helpful.

Is this new construction or a remodel? How does this section relate to the rest of the house? How many will live here?

Yes, it's very difficult for people to comment on your design without knowing what you're hoping to accomplish with your kitchen.

As an example, my kitchen mission statement is this:

I would love my kitchen to be functional for preparing daily scratch meals, with easy-to-clean, hard-wearing surfaces. I want to be social with my family while I am working in the kitchen, and to encourage more kitchen participation from my children. I want my kitchen to look Scandinavian stylish, full of light, with minimal visual clutter. I want my kitchen to feel like an open and welcoming entrance to our flat and I want it to be completely integrated into the attached dining/living area and not scream "kitchen area". In this open space I want to highlight artwork, people, and decorative items rather than walls/appliances/surfaces.``

The first post on this forum is a sticky. In it, there's something called a Sweeby Test--take it. Then read Beginning a Kitchen Plan. That'll get you off on the right foot.

Sweeby was one of the very generous people on GW who helped me design my previous kitchen online -- in 2005 or 2006. Her kitchen is gorgeous and I imagine her tips are too!
