I forgot to add my cabinets are wide frame shaker style with slab front drawers-

I have wide shaker cabinets and have a box full of long handles to install too.

I have slab top drawers and pieced middle & lower drawers.

My plan is to center the top drawer handles on the slab drawers. Then all other drawers will have the handle centered on the top rail. My rails are 3" so the handles will be 1 1/2" from the top of the drawer.

On the doors, I plan to center the handle on the top rail if it's a lower drawer or bottom rail if it's an upper door.
So, for upper doors, the handle would be 1 1/2" from the bottom of the door.

All handles will be horizontal. Check out theanimala's pictures. Her kitchen was my inspiration for the handle placement.

rtorgy1, as eks6426 commented we have our handles horizontally. DH thought I was crazy when I said I wanted them that way but even he agrees now it was a great choice. It is not unnatural to open at all and it looks different, which is what we wanted. Here's a quick picture showing the drawers and doors, all horizontal.

thanks, theanimala, I do like them all horizontal, and was thinking of doing the same in my laundry room, but I think I want the doors vertical in the kitchen. Your kitchen is just stunning- I love looking at pictures of it. I always try to pick a favorite feature but I can't- I love it all! :)
