It should look like separate pieces of furniture. That's the style guideline. White cabinets with a cherry back panel would not pass that test. White uppers and cherry lowers would.

You seriously need some REAL design help on this project. This Lowes person is NOT cutting it. There are technical issues and coordination miss steps. Go to Houzz and find a local designer who can help you with this and ditch Lowes. They do NOT know what they are doing. You are setting youself up for project failure if you persist down this path. Expensive project failure.

Can you elaborate on some of the issues? I thought about getting an outside designer. I just don't know how much value it will bring. I posted all of my plans, renderings, and issues on this board. Surely, there are some very smart and experienced kitchen afficionados on this board. Due to my budget constraints and house layout, I just don't see any other feasible layout. I like livewire's galley layout, but the trade off my cooking efficiency is too huge. I don't want my kitchen to feel like an isolated back room. It would feel like I'm cooking in the back of a restaurant. The other layout suggested was to tear down a wall. Unfortunately, it is a load bearing wall,

This site is great. I feel like I've come a long way with the layout. I've taken most of the suggestions. I went all drawer based, removed the diagonal cabinet, pushed the range over to the left, etc.

What do you think a kitchen designer will see that all of the board members are missing? I'm worried about spending the money for a professional KD with the exact same results.
