 o
Color of Wood/Cork Floor?

Posted by olivertwist (My Page) on

We have chosen maple cabinets and are trying to pick the color of the cork floor. Narrowed it down to 3. Should the floor be lighter than the wood cabinets or closer in color?

Please choose your favorite: left, top, or right. Cabinet sample is in the middle.

Another shot with less glare

And since I know you are going to ask, here are the backsplash made of recycled green glass from Bedrock Industries, and the countertop from GlassSlab GlassRecycled (still have to decide between the two counters but will do that in a separate post).

I like the one on top. The dark spots contrast the cabinets nicely and also tie in with the darker spots on the counter but don't stand out in a distracting way.

Williamsem, have you picked yours yet?

I don't care for the one on the left. The other two seem very close in color tone and different in texture, but if I had to choose I'd pick the one on the right.

I personally don't like floors that are the same color and darkness/lightnesss as the cabinets. When I see kitchen with that, it looks like the floor has crawled up onto the cabinets.

I vote for lighter than the cabinet.

the counter with the larger pieces and the top positioned floor sample

So sweet of you to ask! Not yet, waiting on my sample door before I decide for sure. Probably going to be bleached, though natural would cost less, DH now is leaning toward whitewashed, and I love AmCork's Night, but that is likely too dark (and their product isn't "pre-buttered" so install would cost a little more).
