Can instant hot/filtered tap be hooked to regular cold water?

I bought a Stages 45 sink and was considering having one main pull-down tall faucet and one combined instant hot and cold water faucet (instead of two large faucets like the Karbons in the famous video). Our city water is actually really highly rated and does not need any further filtering. Can the instant hot/cold water faucet be hooked to the nonfiltered city water on the cold side? (I'd still like the instant hot on the other side). I know that filtered water has a very slow flow rate and wondered if those faucets would not be able to handle the high pressure and volume of unfiltered water.
