| just saw on Alberene (VA) website that they are hosting a free workshop on soapstone on March 14 & 15. http://sfaworkshops.com/index.php?show=learn&ws=2013-03-14 Check it out. If anyone in DC is interested, post it here and maybe we can get a group going |

We toured the quarry in October when we were visiting relatives in Charlottesville (we live in WA state). It is a really cool place and worth it to just see how they used soapstone to build everything-the buildings, the smokestack-all those bricks. It was really fun to see.  |
