Sorry for all the mistakes in my post, folks. It's getting worse and worse as I age, I think. I sure could use a proofreader! :-)

Oh gee. Now it's getting worse! This was meant to be read as a "correction" post on Palimpsest's thread, "So what next?" Surely, it's time to retire from this keyboard. Or maybe just to retire. Period! Please, just disregard this "thread." Thanks!

Thread? What thread? I didn't see no stinking thread!

So, I'll raise my hand and say I'm guilty of posting without proofing. Sometimes it's because I have to run. Sometimes it's because I can't focus well enough (and am usually doing a couple other things at a time, and I can make errors on my relaxation activities if I want to (so there!) extra space here because GW takes out the second parenthesis ). Marthavila, I read your post, but I'm too out of focus (THUNDER!) to proof yours either and missed the oops there. (Though I did not reply until everyone else did, much as I wanted to, because you said not to. But I'm going to defy that and join the crowd because it's so much more fun to get in on your oops.)

That and going into a room and not remembering why. The worst one: having something in my hand. Two SECONDS later I've lost it. I haven't moved from the spot. How does that happen?

You guys are so funny! But what a comfort it is to know I am not alone! And, thanks, momj47 for the advice to download Google spell checker. Although to be honest, my posting mistakes are not always misspelled words. Sometimes, when I rushing to share something, I'll carelessly drop out words altogether from my posts. The writing problem is somewhat similar to the verbal kind -- as when 'm talking to others and an oh-so- critical noun (never a verb) chooses to disappear from my brain and I'm left with a mental blank. LOL!

Do any of you touch-type? I learned in high school. Theoretically, it makes you a lot more productive on the computer. In practice, it means you can commit typos that are entire words long. Sometimes whole parts of sentences. I will often type a series of words that sort of sound like what I want to say, except they bake no penitence, um, sorry, make no sense, whatsoever.
