Does this look right?

I decided to end the tile where the upper cabinet ends instead of where the counter ends. Does it look right or should it go to the end of the counter? It was just put in (literally he finished that section 10 minutes ago!) so I could potentially still have it moved.

Oh, and excuse the poultice slathered on the counter!

Pretty backsplash. You did good. I ended mine at the end of the upper cabinet also.

It might look better ending right at the edge of the cabinet box instead of the trim piece.

what may flowers said. I think it would look more lined up with the bottom cabinet that way as well.

I like what you did! I always think it looks a bit off when the backsplash goes out past the cabinet.

Can't wait to see the final result!

Another vote for lining up with upper cabinet box, inside light rail trim.
But way better than out past....and gorgeous kitchen!

Looks great and don't forget, color matched silicone caulk, not grout, between the deck and the first row of tile.

Thank you all! So weird that the pic shows upside down on my desktop but right side up on my iPad (which is where I posted it from). Sorry about that. And thank you for rotating it Aries61.

While I agree about ending it at the cabinet box, I left it as is. I figured that would probably be something that only I notice and hopefully no one else (besides educated GWer's of course!).

Thanks for the tip about the caulk, Trebruchet. What is the reasoning for that? It must have something to do with moisture?

kitchen-reno, the tiles are a gray crackle tile from Tile Daily. Took forever to find the right shade of gray but I am really happy with the tile, the price ($14.95/sq ft), and the free shipping!

I like it the way it is and it looks like it prevents having to cut tiles??

Very pretty kitchen.

If I understand correctly, anytime there is a change of plane you should use caulk rather than grout because grout will crack. I believe that is the rationale for using caulk.

lcskaisgir: You're welcome. A lot of people who post with there Ipad have the same problem with pictures showing correct on it, but doesn't look correct on a regular computer.
