Black appliances with cream cabinets?

Hi everyone,
I am a long time reader of this forum. We are now in the process of building a new house and I am trying to decide on kitchen colors. I would like to do cream colored cabinets but was wondering it it would look nice with black appliances. I don't really like white at all. Stainless is more expensive, plus I have little kids and I am afraid of hand prints. So in your opinion do you think it would look alright? I would like to do a granite in the brown themed family and hopefully find one with some black in it. Do I need to stick with a black counter if I do black appliances? Thanks in advance for your help!

I think what you suggested is fine. a browned-themed granite is pretty neutral, and if it has some black in it, that would be great. Go with what you like.

I have white white cabinets, stainless counters, and a black oven from preremodel and it doesn't look nearly as bad as I thought. In fact it looks sort of spiffy. With cream cabinets and brown counters, you won't get that tuxedo look--it'll just look nice and warm and perfectly lovely. (I also still have the mis-sized black fridge from preremodel but it's got so much stuff stuck to it with magnets you'd never know it was black.)

Right, I would like a warm look. I guess when I pick the granite I'll see if I could do the black appliances.
