what color countertops? backsplash?

I'm in the middle of painting my kitchen and need advice on a countertop color that would look good in here can someone give me some ideas? The wall color is diving dolphin gray its basically gray with a hint of blue my countertops are laminate so they will be custom colored to my choice disregard the ugly stove and over range thing I have stainless steel appliances waiting to be installed backsplash ideas are welcome also :-)
