Recessed Light Plan

Finally settled on cabinet dimensions/layout. Now I am working on the lighting for the room. I am planning on putting LED recessed lights. Is there a 'standard' formula for where to put the lights. IE, they should be X feet from the cabinets and every Y feet apart?

Unfortunately my scanner isn't working right now, so I can scan in the kitchen layout. As soon as it is working, I will scan in the layout.
