So frustrated - remodel is stalled before it has even started!

We are converting our garage into a kitchen and we were supposed to start right after the holidays. We got two bids, which were fairly comparable, and liked both of the design/build teams we met with.

Now my husband has decided that he wants to have our architect do construction drawings so that he can submit the drawings for them to rebid.

I know he is trying to avoid any surprises by getting as thorough an estimate as possible, but in the meantime, it's February, we have no drawings, the contractors are getting booked up, and this kitchen is going nowhere!

Just had to vent.

Yeah but the construction drawings will force you to be far more specific. Not only will your estimate be more accurate but you may avoid cost overruns and schedule delays with a clearly done set of construction drawings and specifications list. I hear you on the frustration thing-- seems like everything takes longer and costs more at every turn. Plan, plan, plan seems to be the most consistent advice we got. Good luck!
