Flush finished sides vs plywood upgrade

So I thought I was all set with my design but then my GC made a comment about plywood sides being best and I had only planned to do flush or furniture finished ends on the sides that show. It would be an extra $600 to do the plywood upgrade and not have the flush ends. Is it worth it? Am I overthinking the flush ends thing? I actually never notice in other peoples kitchens so maybe it's silly as I am on a small budget for a very modest home?

Do flush finished plywood only on the cabinets that are exposed. $600 is totally not worth it for any cabinets that won't be seen. It's only a 1% upcharge for plywood sides for unexposed ends with my lines. Only 5% for all plywood. In neither case is it really "worth" it. But for $600, buy a pull out trash or other treat that you didn't go for originally.
