Most of our cabinet runs with stained cabinets have the plain toekick and baseboard. If I had to do it again I'd probably get the more detailed baseboard as shown on the third photo above.

How is it going with your toekicks? I am also planning to do a flush toekick, and possibly arched toeticks as well. Would love to know how it comes together, as I am also doing full overlay doors. Can't wait to see your pics of your finished kitchen!

My toe kicks are recessed on all the cabinets. I used dark silicone and sealed the area between the toe kick and floor so dirt can't get under the cabinets.

If the toe kick is flush with the cabinet, it seems like it would be uncomfortable working at the counter or sink.

kntryhuman- I actually tested this out in my old kitchen, and other than at the sink, my feet did not go into the toekick area. When I did a mock up, I didn't notice the difference either. At the sink, however, it is noticeable, which it why I am doing exactly what cotehele did, and pull out the sink out a few inches. I am doing an English inspired kitchen, and many of the kitchens pictured in the UK show a furniture toekick on all of the cabinets.
