I probably would do a crackle or glass subway in one of the main colors in the granite, which looks like a green or a yellowish gold from a quick Internet search I did. No accent tiles as your granite needs to be the star.

If you post a picture or two you may get more replys as well.

Golden lightning was on our short list of granite colors. It's pretty stone. With you taking the granite up the wall behind the range, and with plenty of movement in the stone, you would probably want to choose a backsplash that isn't too busy visually. I'm not sure what other colors you have in the kitchen and adjacent rooms. If you can post a picture, we could probably offer better suggestions. Are the cabinets modern, traditional, rustic, country?

Google green granite countertops and check out what others have used and the overall appearance of the different backsplashes. They aren't all the same green, but you will get an idea. Check out the link below for sixtyohno's kitchen with rainforest green. She used a plain green glass that is perfect for her countertops.

For a more rustic look, I think some of the tiles that look handmade with slight color variations might look nice. I can't remember the names of them, but others here might be able to help.

We used crema marfil marble with our seafoam green, and the tan color goes well with the granite. I don't think it's the right color for the golden lightning, as there's more yellow in that green. It was a little tricky using stone, as we hand-sorted the tile to make sure that the tiles with busy patterns or colors that were too light or dark weren't used (we installed the backsplash ourselves). If I had to do it again, I would probably choose a ceramic tile.

Please post some pictures when you can, preferably after the granite is in. I'm sure you'll get more suggestions. And don't think you have to rush with the backsplash.
