| Any thoughts on a better layout for our kitchen? We're a family of 6 and spend a decent amount of time cooking together. We also frequently have other families over where several people will be doing something in the kitchen. (group baking with lots of kids, decorating cookies or cupcakes together, a few families preparing a meal for 15-20 people, etc) Thanks in advance! |

| The cooktop across from the sink in your plan is going to be challenging in a social kitchen with lots of participants. It is from the old "triangle" design developed for a one person kitchen. That model needs modifications for two or more cooks. |

| This would work better. But, a kitchen on the front of the house is an unusual choice. I'd try to avoid it. Most people prefer to have the public rooms like the DR at the front, and the private rooms like the kitchen towards the rear. |

| Thanks, I think you're right in that we need to find more use for the counter by the hall. Not sure the dishwasher opening into that entry is the best choice, but will take these ideas and see what else I can come up with. |
