Hooray, we templated today

To say that our kitchen renovation journey has been a long and arduous one is a true understatement. If our kitchen ever gets finished and I get to do a final reveal, perhaps I'll bore all of you with the details.

But, in the meantime...a year and 1/2 since we picked out and held our granite (original thread found here for anyone interested: http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/kitchbath/msg082054525215.html?10 )...we finally got revisit our stone and to template today. Our tentative install date is the 28th with a backup date of the 3rd. Fingers crossed for the former rather than the later.

We're using 1 1/3 slabs for our kitchen. It looks like we are going to be able to do our window sills with left over areas and that we'll have the opportunity to do a roll out with our granite.

Feeling lazy, so I'm just going to post two pictures, one at a time in the thread.

ardcp - It's called Diamonds Leather - it has a leathered texture - it's got some unevenness (due to the mica) that I hope will be easy to clean once it's installed.

Debra - it should appeal to you...I think that your countertop is pretty similar. If I remember correctly, yours was called White Diamonds, right?

Looking at what the fabricator has coming in now that is supposed to be from the same quarry, I am SO glad that we got ours when we did - ours is so much prettier.

We found that we're going to have two seams, which they said originally could be the case and it is a bit disappointing, but I'm hoping it will be fine.

That's such exciting news. I feel like the day that they comae and template, you know that your kitchen is inevitably on the way and soon to be done. Such a great feeling of progress!! Post pics on install. Good luck on those seams.
