You can definitely get dividers that divide the existing drawer box and even make them yourself. Creating two drawers out of one is a little more difficult -- doable, but not as easy.

Deep drawers are good for pots and pans (better than a cabinet), and I also have my flour, sugar and baking supplies in them. Utensils, wraps, tools, towels (unless you have a LOT), pot holders, spices, flatware can all go in shallower drawers. There is really no substitute for trying to inventory your own needs, the layout and seeing what works best where. It doesn't have to be perfect -- things can be a bit flexible.

BTW, the ads I'm seeing on my screen include apron front sinks I was looking at because of one of your other threads. They are following me! Also some pale green penny tile. LOL

I think deep drawers can be very handy. I keep all my pots and pans in deep drawers, plus my blender, salad spinner (tall), and all my Tupperware in deep drawers.

Measure your biggest pieces and make sure you have space in at least one drawer for the tallest.

The thread linked below shows some great pictures for how people have organized their drawers. I really like how lisaslists has vertical dividers to vertically store baking pans, and also the picture that desertsteph posted that shows vertical storage for cutting boards etc. So I haven't given you measurements to use, but hopefully given some thoughts re: what you should measure...

I'm excited about getting some deep 3-drawer stacks, but I think some items are better off in a shallower 4-drawer stack. As mentioned, an inventory is the best place to start. It can be a PIA if your mind has trouble with those sorts of tasks, but it is essential to actually being able to properly store all your stuff where you want to.
