i don't know which is better...but for us we love the wall mount.

i didn't even look at deck mount b/c i didn't want it taking up the space on counter, cleaning around base and generally didn't like the look of it overall.

after having it installed for over a year, we are so pleased with the p/f and glad we installed it. we use it for so much more than just filling the pasta pot, so for us, it was worth it.

i think it would come down to personal preferance in the end but someone with more knowledge might have other points.

Thanks for your response! The small bit of counter space isn't a big deal to me... I just didn't know if aesthetically one is better than the other.
