Deep well cooker, anyone?

At least all this scurrying around looking for vintage kitchen stuff is very educational. I'd often noticed that old ranges, both gas and electric, tend to have two or three burners and a hole in the cooktop and always wondered what that was all about. So now I've discovered the deep well cooker.

I know several folks here have vintage ranges. If you have a deep well cooker, do you use it? Do you have the original pot for it and do you use that?
