Here are my full overlay cherry/w bay stain. I really really wish I had done the raised panel. We are still not done so dont mind the blue tape and dust :)

osswb, your kitchen is amazing!! You obviously do quite a bit of cooking and baking and I am drooloing over all the fine details of your kitchen. Just beautiful.

My cabinets are frameless, so they look just like full overlay cabinets. Our counters are a white granite that I thought you might like to see as well. I think the light stone will look great on dark blue cabinets!

I am trying to decide inset vs overlay, also. HCF1, just curious, what do being clumsy and small children have to do with inset? My old cabinets now are full overlay and the kids bend them back to far and the hinges pop, etc. I was thinking inset would be better for kids. Maybe not??

acallon@mac.com, well, my biggest concern about inset cabinets is the scratch & dent factor on the frame of the cabinets. While my kids are pretty careful, they are great about wanting to help, especially putting away the dishes, etc. I cannot tell you how many times a fork has punctured the framed portion of our silverware drawer :) So I was thinking, if we choose the full overlay style and when the dents & scratches occur on the framed portion of the cabinets, all of the nicks, cuts and bruises will get hidden by just shutting the doors and drawers. What are your thoughts about the 2 styles?
