Backsplash help: beadboard & tile-framed opening combo

Hi all,
I'm working on our backsplash design ahead of time since it involves possibly doing a tile-framed opening over the cooktop to give us a look-through into the family room. We're not planning on passing anything back and forth through this opening. It is simply to give us better communication and and visual connection between the family room and kitchen.

I'm not sure how to combine both the beadboard and the tile. I've done up a rendering of what we could possibly do. There are some limitations on the width of the opening due to a heat run on the right edge of the cooktop. The way I drew it is as far right as the opening can go.

And, here is the backsplash in question. (There is a rise on the back of the counter that I somehow didn't paint in...oops!)

Any opinions?
