Lots of Liebheer experts on the Appliance Forum. Some love the brand, others not so much.

I've had a 30" Liebherr for a year now (and had a 24" about 6 years ago in a previous home). Absolutely no problems, and it's very, very quiet. Can't possibly say if it will last a decade or more, but I don't expect that a Liebherr, or any contemporary refrigerator, will have that long a lifespan.

One of mine is close to a decade old, I have two of them. Liebherr has been making fridges in Europe for over 50years. They still make he EU sized miele fridges. I have two Mieles and love them. I have been trying to afford the Miele 24" fridge. You will find positive and negative reviews of anything.

Part of the reason that refrigerators don't last long is that people used to repair or service appliances and they no longer do. If you are paying $400 to fix $1000 fridge, current conventional wisdom is to just get a new fridge.

But with Liebherr, Sub-Zero, et al.--particularly if they are built in--people will pay to have them repaired rather than replace.

$400 is 40% of $1000 but only about 6% of $7000, so it makes more sense.
