We are at the end of our decision making process for cabinetry and here is the advice I can provide.

First, everyone has a different opinion on what level of quality cabinetry they are willing to live with coupled with the price factor. Therefore, you will be able to find both pros and cons / positive and negative reviews on just about every single brand of cabinetry available in the marketplace.

There are tons of threads on GW that you can find (use google search) with information on various user experiences with the brands you are considering. I definitely have spend way too many hours to count looking at GW threads, talking with referrals, and meeting with multiple companies/designers to both educate myself and get more comfortable with this portion of the purchase. It's a lot of money to spend without knowing the detail IMO! I know way more about catalyzed finishes, box construction, and solid vs. veneer doors than I ever wanted to knowâ¦HOWEVER, all of that information has been extremely helpful in getting to the point I am today and being a knowledgable buyer. I feel savvy enough to make an informed purchase within my budget and not look back.

Finally, I would say that whichever direction you go, make sure you are VERY comfortable with the source where you will purchase your cabinets. You want to know that they are qualified to help you navigate all of the options for your cabinets (construction, finish, moldings, panels, filler, etc.) within your budget and willing to work with you to add/remove features, etc. Also, you want to be confident that in the case you run into any issues with your cabinets when they arrive or after install during the warranty period, that you can work with them to get the problems resolved. Save yourself potential hassles down the road by working with the right people up front. I know that's easier said than done!
