Ice Maker: Grind-grind Thump-thump ... Help!

SEE ATTACHED: "A" from inside the freezer connects to "B" on the back of the ice-bucket. This is the second plastic-cup (B) that has been grounded-down by "A". I've watched the installation video. Apparently I'm doing something wrong... And need educated before I replace another cup. Help?
