I do not think you are crazy. Do you know how the quality compares? The old ikea line had really outstanding hardware for the price point. I haven't seen much about the new line, is it as good?

Here's what a blogger wrote about the new line:

I used to follow ikeafans.com a lot and never read anything negative about the quality of METOD there, so I wouldn't hesitate to go with SEKTION. I do wonder if the prices will be bumped a bit? The hardware/boxes of AKURUM are quite a steal - seems like the fronts were where they got most of the profit.

I would definitely NOT do an AKURUM kitchen right now. I think it would be asking for trouble with availability issues, etc. Plus the torture of being taunted by the new best thing kitchens ;) . I know, I'm still not done installing custom cabinet fronts in my AKURUM kitchen.

Agree... If IKEA were holding another sale on the Akurum, it would be push me back to where I was originally.

If the quality is as good or better, I would definitely wait. Ongoing availability of parts alone would convince me.

Wait. IKEA has such cool interior fittings it would be a shame to miss out on them.

DO you think they'll be out on schedule?
