Celeste is helping me have thirty tiles handpainted with pictures of our children and pets (see here if you choose to go that route).

Here's another link for you. I dealt with these folks while shopping for my floor tile, and I noticed their Delft collection then. I didn't end up ordering from them, but I did order samples and spoke with them, and they were very helpful.

Anyone found any other sources? I'm looking at a kitchen backsplash, which is a considerable amount of money when you're looking at the decorated tiles running $19-30 each (from these two sources) and the field tiles $10 each. I'd be perfectly happy to use cheap, plain white field tiles and just a few or a row of the decorated tiles - if only I could be sure they'd match! Which I sort of doubt for handmade tiles.

Don't get me wrong - the handmade and hand painted tile is wonderful, and these are much better prices than ordering from The Netherlands. But is there no way to get a cheaper Delft-look backsplash? Thanks!

These coordinate with Daltile White or Olean's Snow White and are 15.00 a pop.

Thanks, nosoccermom. I would love the coastal thing for a beach house, but we're way inland. There are some of them that would work well anywhere, though, and I could just go with a border perhaps for the blue and white. Still on the pricey side for a single tile - but given that they coordinate with a cheaper background tile, this might actually be doable! I'll check out ebay as well.

Then I'd ask them what white tiles they are using and get those.

I ended up getting the Harlinger tiles from Nelis Dutch Village and am very happy with them.
