I have Fieldstone which has been installed for a little over a year. It is lovely and well constructed; we've had no issues at all and have a combo of doors, drawers, and roll outs (and two not so gentle teens.) Their website has a cabinetry comparison download--ours are a plywood box construction which, at the time, was a free upgrade. My guess is they are considered a mid grade cabinetry price wise, but I went with them because their finish and construction seemed at least as good, if not better, as the other three pricier manufacturers (Brookhaven, Wayneco, and Keener) I checked out. So far, no regrets.

One of our pros commented just recently that you need to change your focus just a bit to give more consideration to quality of finish. Wish I could remember who, sorry. The argument was that once you've chosen something substantial like "factory custom," you're into good construction territory already. What makes the difference at that point is looking critically at the finish of one company vs. another. Anybody remember who said that? I'm quite sure the original post is much more illuminating than my memory of it.

I am no expert on cabinet quality but recently jakuvall one of the pro's here posted on cabinet quality and what to look for. So you may want to read that.

Do you have additional names your are considering? I believe both lines you looked at are considered mid-upper lines (and I know Fieldstone has a lower end brand). I selected Crystal over Fieldstone.

This is not directly related to quality, but the thread below has some relative pricing between cabinet brands. You can at least see how the pricing shakes out (note the construction quality and country of manufacture comes widely into play)
