Well I love the top one, the one that is all gray chevrons with the high contrast grout. Maybe you can find a knockoff since you say it is too expensive. The second one is very nice but I don't know about using those 2 colors. But I don't know what color cabinets you have.

As I look at your images, I am confused. This does not look like a remodeled kitchen as you described in your text. The yellow and gray chevron does not look like it would be called "lagoon" either. Can you verify your post for me.

Number 1 definitly modern neutral and interesting. #2 is just too much

the second multi-color chevron is $50-60/ sq ft and i would choose a blue to replace the green color

the third is $40-50 /sq ft and is light blue glass

I can't read, i've attached a picture of the unremodeled kitchen, and two backpslash ideas that I like... You were very clear :)

I still like that top one.

The last one is ok, but it really depends on what your after. To me it is somewhat visually distracting.

I really like the next to the last sample. It has a lovely sheen and variations of blue. It looks like it could be very versatile with all the subtle colors. I see tans as well as purples in the tiles. It certainly has a different personality than the last sample.

The chevron tiles are very cool looking. I also like the last two simpler ones you uploaded. From your description, your remodeled space will have very clean contemporary lines. The glass mosaics will add a bit of zing.

Totally my opinion..but, I think the mini mosaics will just date your kitchen. They are very distracting and busy. If you want modern and "interesting," I'd go with first idea...but, personally, I LOVE the color and shimmer of that skinny subway (2X6")..the second to the last. I think that might be a safer choice if you plan to sell the apartment.
