please help! pendant lights!!!

bh401

I ordered pendants from AmericanHomeplus.com(thank gooodness that's all I ordered from them) back in Nov.

I just found out they have been discontinued! We will be ready for lights in 2-3 weeks. Now I can't decide!

My kitchen is open to the family and breakfast rooms. One will be over my 33" stainless apron front sink and the other will be over the rest of the peninsula and bar top to the left.(the sink sits in an angled cab.)

Any ways, I'll post a link to my countertops(sandstone) and paste web address to the possible lights(don't know why you can't paste more than 1 link)

I may end up changing my light over breakfast table to something that will match the pendants or just go with something totally different.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE HELP! I know it will be a lot of work to view every thing, but it took me forever to pick the first pendants.

Please note the sizes on these if your willing to go through the work of looking. I forgot to post the size of the counter where one is centered. It is 4' wide with standard depth cabs and then 18" bartop(not raised-counter hieght)
Thanks again for looking and helping. I tried to copy the pics over instead of the web addresses but it wouldn't let me. Sorry

Did you look on line to see if another showroom has them in stock? If you post the ones you want maybe someone who is really gifted at web surfing will find them?

I like the capri mini pendant the best, but it's difficult to help you without knowing what the fixture over the breakfast table looks like.

The light over the breakfast table I ordered is: http://www.lightinguniverse.com/chandeliers/vaxcel-ox-chu003bn-3-light-oxford-chandelier-brushed-nickel_g522181.html

but I may change it to something that goes with the pendants I choose. The original pendants were Minka onyx cylinders.

    Thanks super awesome pic guru-boxerpups:)

I'm really leaning toward the 5th single pendant pic and ordering the matching 5 light to put over the BRFST table.(I'll have to return the one I have already received)
The jezebel comes in a flame edge(looks like a napkin with 4 corners hanging down) champagne and white swirl that's a contenter too. And I'm also drawn to the Nimbus Caramel.(Though daughter who is almost 16 went yuck)
Please post your opinions. I must pick something soo.

I'm sure you've tried this as you've made several phone calls already, but I'd call the factory on Monday and ask whether there is a rep who might know of a warehouse with some extra stock hanging around....

Sorry for the mess! I guess backordered lamps are like delayed flights at the airport: the longer the wait the bleaker the prospects of a good outcome.

I spent most of the day Thursday working on finding them somewhere else. I gave up and Friday started the search for new ones. Thanks for responses.
Ofcourse, as far as customer service goes-that website is the worst! They were on backorder and supposed to ship in December and they company never contacted me to tell me they had infact been discontinued. They said they didn't know until I called them and they called Minka. I don't know who dropped the ball but I'm not very happy right now!

I like your breakfast pendant and would keep it and then pair it with the one in between Capri and Wishes (as per boxerpups post). I don't care for matchy - matchy stuff and by doing this you are differentiating between the eating area and kitchen. But the two lighting fixtures have the same shape, are of the same metal and have the same shape of metal base at the base of the light. They don't have to be the same fixtures but should have some common elements. I like the mix of those two fixtures.

Thanks, I do like my breakfast pendant. The only way I will switch it is if I go with mosaic(5th). The matching 5 light is beautiful:)

I'm not a matchy matchy person either. Ofcourse they make a single pendant that matches my breakfast light. But I think that would be kind of boring. I really want something unique that pops but lets the sandstone counters take center stage.

Thanks again! I like that one as well. Ofcourse, that's another one my daughter said "yuck" to. But she will graduate in 2 years and it's "MY" kitchen:)

Straight cylinders are more my taste (without knowing what style your kitchen is - the cylinders can give a contemporary feel), but overall some very pretty lights. I like the shape of the wishes one - curves but not as curvy/bulby as capri - but it may be a bit dark.

Color wise I like the lighter/creamer ones versus the amber color for your counters. Something with a little color but not a start contrast to the counters.

    good luck

I already voted, but I agree even more now with boxerpups, I love that capri pendant with your gorgeous counter!

I love your counter top. It is gorgeous!

I like the Hudson light & Wishes lights best, but they are all very pretty.

I'm curious what else you have going on in your kitchen, because that could impact which light is most ideal for your kitchen.

I have all Electrolux stainless appliances.-Seperate fidge and freezer(built in together)DW, wall O,Ice, Fridge drawers, and built in MW, and36" induction hybrid cooktop. As said above, my sink is a 33" stainless apron front with stainless Delta touch2o faucet. My cooktop is in the island with a 42" elx designer venthood with the curved glass canopy and stainless duct. My flooring is interceramic Colonial wood in pecan. Cabinets are (light side of medium)glazed maple(darker than clear coat) The house is a country triple dormer but the inside is more contemporay/transitional/traditional. I like a comfortable, cleaner, non-froofroo look but not stark modern. The walls are BJM Roxbury Caramel(kind of goldish beige) Cabinet hardware??? I'm thinking simple rectangular pulls on drawers(lots of them-think they work sooo much better than reg. cabinets that you have to bend down and reach into)and egg knobs for cab door.(My door handles are stainless eggs) Oh yea, backsplash is this awesome tile I actually found at HD. It is MSI mosaic diamante 2x2 ag glass(all the colors of countertop as speckles in each tile)
no pics-maybe boxer can help me again:)

Here's some lights from LBL Lighting that I think look good too (not to confuse the issue, just adding a few more;)

Thanks for the suggestions doonie. Wish I could figure out how to post pics like that. (not to get off subject) When I try to pull from websites it doesn't work. Do I need to save pics on computer then try to post from there? I was a long time lurker but joined a few months ago because of the build. You guys always have great ideas:)

Doonie, I don't mean to hijack the thread but I liked some of those LBL lights on their site. Do you know where to purchase? It looks like here in New Orleans there's one little known place and only DirectBuy (which is a big NO!!!). Is that it? Thanks!

bh401, There is a way to post directly from the website that I copied from GW. (I don't remember who wrote this out...may have been Beuhl):

Go to the website, put your cursor on the photo and RIGHT click and a box will pop up.
LEFT click on VIEW IMAGE INFO

A box will appear with the line LOCATION: followed by that photo's location on the web starting with HTTP and ending with JPG.
Copy and paste the location into your post at GardenWeb.
Type in front of it "img src=" It will look like this:
img src=http and so on, ending with jpg
Then add carets at the beginning and end.

Preview the message and if you don't see the photo, something has gone wrong.

What I usually do is save the image to my computer then upload it to either tinypic or photobucket. Then I retrieve the code from there that says it's for a message board.

Babs, I would think any lighting store could order the LBL lights. I ordered mine through American Lighting. I am very happy with the quality and the light output for tasks.
