Since you're building...door placement flexible?

I like the original kitchen layout, but I can see moving the powder room closer to the garage. Are you planning to have a basement?

The powder room might work better, if you flip the sink and toilet and have the door open into the powder room, but against the garage wall. Less of a direct view into that area from the kitchen. Moving the bench back against the laundry room area would allow you to do this and buffer the laundry area a little from people using the powder room. Just an idea :) From Kitchen plans

I have to say I like LL's suggestion or the original best too as the galley with the dead end makes for more chances of colliding for two cooks and any other people or little helpers that may need access. Consider a couple of people trying to get their own breakfast ready in the morning and another putting theirs away. How would the kitchen function for you?

I vote for the original or LL's design.

I don't like the orphan fridge next to the pantry, with no landing area next to it. I like the original kitchen best.
