how to finish half wall?

Hola,

I swear, after being attached constantly to GW for the last 6+months (and way longer in just reading phase), I can't seem to make any decisions without GW anymore.

I hope you can help me finish off this halfwall.

Having a hard time visualizing how to finish this partial wall.
The reason the wall is open at the top is because that within 5years, we will rip open the Familyroom's roof to put in a 2nd floor for the masterbedroom. So with this partial wall, only the top of the column needs to be cut off and the new 2nd floor can go in.
- I would like the wall to blend in, especially the columns up to the ceiling.
- What color should the molding be, since the doors = dark, but rest of room molding = white?

In the front of the partial wall, the TV will go in the middle. Below it, there will be dark brown/black espresso doors covering the storage.
In the back, there'll be 4 "lockers" over the bench seats. The top of the bench is dark stain butcher block.

This is the front of the partial wall.

Lockers like this (but in dark wood):

Here are 2 example of partial walls:
This one with contrasting storage color:

Ha! In my search for sample pictures, I just found this bathroom half-wall.
I think I'm going to do this:
- Paint the columns blue like the wall.
- Do toe molding and top of column molding in white, like the rest of the room
