On the contrary. The basket rolls out onto the door and you're in the center of it instead of having to lean. My sink is installed similar to the one in the photo (except it's upmounted) with the dw behind a panel on the right.

A farm sink bumped out like the one in the photo is so underrated. It's the most comfortable sink I've ever worked at. No leaning forward. It comes out to you. Also, there's no interference from things on either side. It has its own space.

My only suggestion would be to lose the pilasters (if you have an inclination for them) as things can drip occasionally and those are more difficult to wipe down than the smooth side of a cabinet.

Thx rococo - never visualized being in the center and it does make more sense. Now I have the courage to proceed. Agree on pilasters - was thinking craftsman-ish straight routing or square something :) and they would pull out for dish towels, soap, SOS etc

If you have enough space on each side of the sink base and they can do those vertical pull outs, that's brilliant. My kitchen is 10 y.o. and those built-in refinements weren't developed when I bought cabinets so you are all way ahead.

Just for reference, I have a 33" sink base with a 30-inch Rohl sink. Only thing I would love more than this sink is an even bigger one LOL

My sink is proud of the DW and I have no problems with it. Very comfortable to use.

Rococo-I have never heard of up mounted sinks. When you have a chance could you take a snap of it and post? Considering a custom granite sink with side drain and integral drain board instead of double bowl and hope to supersize. Up-mounting sounds intriguing. Thx for your help.
