Quartzite Yards in MD/DC/VA?

I live in the metro DC area and am very interested in quartzite for my kitchen countertops. Does anyone have recommendations on where to go to look at physical samples of quartzites? Would most granite yards have it?

I don't know...I would try calling and asking. If they don't carry quartzite they may know someone who does. Try

  • Avanti Marble & Granite (http://www.avantimarblegranite.com) in Frederick

  • Universal Marble & Granite (http://www.umgrocks.com/index.htm) south of Baltimore

  • Thomas Marble and Granite in Gaithersburg, MD (I don't have their website URL offhand)

I do not recommend Granite Source in Chantilly, VA, we had a very bad experience with them.

Adding to Buelhl's list try Rugo Stone in Lorton, VA www.rugostone.com
I am pleased with the work they did for me in caesarstone and marble.
