 o
two types of crown moldings in kitchen/great room

I've got cherry cabs with natural stain that opens up (no walls) into a great room that has a sitting booth and entertainment center.

My idea is that the cherry cabs will have matching crown moldings. However, the great room will have white moldings.

Is having two color types of moldings a faux pas? what if the crown moldings have the same design but different colors? or should I just forego crown moldings in the great room?
