Island...level or multilevel?

Please help me! I am trying to figure our whether we should tier our island. I am onlly 5', while my husband is 6'4". I think that a taller island will feel too big for me, wspecially when I have to lean over to set something on the other side! We will have seating on the non-cooking side. Below is a rough sketch of our kitchen.
