Your kitchen is beautiful! I especially love your walnut island top and have contacted Grothouse Lumber for an estimate for my own kitchen island. I was curious as to the thickness of your wood top, the type of edge that you chose and whether it is finished with mineral oil or their furniture grade finish? When I contacted Grothouse, they recommended a mineral oil finish, but I was concerned about the up-keep. How is your island top holding up?

I love your kitchen so much with the choices you made. I just ordered a GE Cafe Gas Range. I wish I could get the dual range. I love the backguard you added and now I am going back and forth to add the backguard or wait to see what I do to my counters next year when I have more funds. Why did you choose the backguard and are you glad you did? I love your granite counters and I still want to remove my 20 year old laminate counters and buy counters that I would love. I also love the way the knobs from BetsyFieldDesign with that dark gunmetal color look against your cabinets. After my GE Cafe Gas Range arrives (waiting to see what the GE nonventing hood looks like when it is delivered to the store for my approval before it is driven here to be installed in my kitchen so I have time to decide if I want to go with the backgaurd or not). Soon I will have all my appliances kind of match since they will all be stainless and I will keep looking at the kitchens of others for ideas until I am ready to do the rest of my kitchen's renovations.
