Please, please provide comments on kitchen layout

I've been on this forum a little over a month - it's been fantastic. We have an odd-shapped kitchen renovation - it's a galley kitchen on a house that's had lots of additions over the years, making lots of small boxed areas. We're trying to undo some of this - and unfortunately couldn't get an open island layout - but have worked with KD and others to get this layout. We're getting ready to order cabinets - so would appreciate any final feedback!
(Cabinets: inset white painted; Appliances: stainless steel; Countertop: honed abs blk; Peninsula Top: carrara marble)
A few details:
* Small sink on left wall opens to a family room below.
* We are planning to put a small table (counter height w/ matching carrara marble top) in the open area (breakfast area) at the bottom left of the picture
* People flow left-to-right through from the dining area (left) through the breakfast area to the family room which is down 3 steps and sunken.

Comments, suggestions - to make an open layout? Thanks!
