Posted kitchen on Rate My Space

I put this kitchen up on RMS for everyone to see. My buddy that recently passed built the cabinets. The clients have now moved in so I stopped by to get some pics to show Tim's Wife. I have posted a few pics of this kitchen before but there was still work being done on the house in those. Now its all finished so I figured I would post them so she could see what everyone thinks of her husband's wonderful work.

Hope you like it.

Man, that's some incredible work. Especially that hood!! As an upscale tile contractor, I work in alot of custom homes, so I see work done by real craftsmen on a regular basis, and I'm BIGTIME impressed!

Thanks Bill! I hope you liked some of my ideas on this one. I decided that regular glass would not be right in those doors. I started with an idea that maybe some old glass would fit but then went what you see in the pics. There were also some questions about the hand carved accents there but thank god I did not have to change them. I just had to convince the clients that they would totally work with the kitchen in the end. Fortunately they trusted me on that one & Tim was happy about that too.

What beautiful cabinets!! He did a great job.
What color did you paint the cabinets?

RE: colors

I used Ben Moore Navajo White for the cabinets & the glaze is a super top secret custom mix made in my super secret paint laboratory aka my basement.

Here are direct links so make sure you click on them to see full zoom which shows more detail. Last one is a powder room vanity made of cherry using 75% Old Masters cherry & 25% red mahogany & I figured you all should see that too.

RE: oh hi Laurie

Laurie glad you got a look at this. Did you get your walls finished yet?

RE: Posted kitchen on Rate My Space

Steve - I embarrassed to say my wall is still covered in paint samples. My husband is going to China for 10 days, so I'm thinking I may paint some bigger areas on the wall itself and stare at it for a couple of days so that I can hopefully decide by the time he gets back. I'm looking at two different colors, but I still feel like neither is the perfect color.

Since the glaze is top secret, will you fly to Texas and paint my kitchen cabinets :) Those are closer to the color I had in mind when I had my paneling painted.
