Can some one help me with ideas to get enough day light in my kitchen please? putting a skylight is not possible as there's a bedroom upstairs. I thought of removing a set of cabinets off the wall , making an opening in that wall and installing a new window. But since this wall is load bearing , how safe is it to make a 4ft by 4ft opening ,without disturbing the structural integrity of the building? Have any of you done anything like this ? If so I would really appreciate your views on this . Thankyou.
