We are doing a kitchen face-lift - keeping the natural cherry cabinets, replacing everything else you find in a kitchen. We found the slab of marble that we would like to use for our countertop - colonial gold. However, we have to purchase the whole slab, though we only need a portion of it. Tonight I saw in a magazine a kitchen which had a backsplash made of marble subway tiles - it was gorgeous. Does anyone know if it's possible to cut out subway tiles from the unused portion of granite? I believe the slab is 1-2 inches thick. I appreciate any thoughts you may have on this!
