Most efficient heat and air unit

I have a 2 year old unit central a/c with heat coming from a rinnai hot water heater which uses propane gas. I want to go to the best efficient source of heat and air,I also was looking at solar hot water and solar power to lower my per bill, everybody has different opinion. I need help deciding
