Partially Finished Attic Has Plywood Flooring?

Howdy. I have a rental house. Its attic has two finished rooms. They have no heat or plumbing. No insulation in the rafters or their floor. Their floors are plywood. I hope to sell it in the summer. I can DIY cover the both of their floors with inexpensive carpeting from Home Depot for a total of $200-$250. The main floor is very open; 9' ceilings; hardwood floors. Would placing the carpet on the attic floors tend to hold in a little of the main floor heat? Thanks.

If there's no insulation or heat and the floor is sheets of plywood over the joists, what about the attic do you consider to be "finished"? Sounds like nothing more than an attic space. Is the plywood thick enough to meet subfloor specs?

The insulation value of cheap carpet (which you can look up) in a space as you describe will have no discernible benefit.
