Humidifier on the attic. Risk of freezing?

Considering installing a bypass humidifier in the attic (Atlanta, GA) where sometimes we have freezing temperatures. I can connect it to the hot pipe. Is there a risk of water freezing and breaking the unit?

You always run the risk of a water pipe freeze on anything installed in the attic. If you are going to do this then I recommend you wrap the water and condensate pipes with heat tape. There are various types which can be used with copper and PVC piping. Can the type which are controlled by a thermostat.
