Furnace/HVAC Replacement Options

A little back info. 3000 sqft house in Houston Texas with 2 systems:

Down - Original AC (19 years) + Original Furnace (19 years)

Up - 13 Seer American Standard (7 years old) + Original Furnace (19 years)

Both furnaces were found to be leaking CO during fall check up. Looking at replacements, Trane in particular since I've had good luck with them.

Contractor has given multiple choices, including :

1. Just replacing furnaces - Trane XR80
2. XB14/XB80 combo for down, XR80 for up
3. XR15/XR80 combo for down, XR80 for up
4. XL16i/XV80 for down, XV80 for up.

Option (4) is pricey - contractor just threw that in if I wanted to get 3 year 0% financing from Trane.

Based on the life of my equipment, I know the minimum upgrade of option (1) or (2) will give me better performance and efficiency than what I currently have.

Big question is should I move to option (3) and (4) or stick with option (2).

Thank you all in advance.

Ken
